Position Summary:

The Division of University Relations at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville invites applications for an Administrative Assistant. This experienced-level position facilitates and plans for several direct reports to the Vice Chancellor of University Relations' office. This is a full-time, benefit eligible position.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with department paperwork processes including, but not limited to, purchase orders, credit card orders, checking balances, travel expense reports, and other accounting paperwork
  • Schedule meetings, create agendas, and create debriefing materials
  • Answer phone lines and monitor emails and organize them with priority, categories, and timelines, forwarding to appropriate person responsible
  • Take messages during campus crisis situations
  • Represent office at university meetings and functions as needed
  • Serve on search and screen committees as needed

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience as an administrative assistant or an Associate's degree in a business related field
  • Exceptional organizational skills and highly detail-oriented
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Skilled at multitasking and prioritizing projects and tasks
  • Proficiency in the use of personal computers and software applications including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office.
  • Positive attitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and ability to work under pressure
  • Experience with and ability to work with confidential information

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with donor/corporate relations and or event management
  • Project management experience
  • Basic knowledge of reservation/fundraising softwares
  • Basic accounting skills
