Position Summary:

The University of Wisconsin-Platteville, Catering Services department seeks applicants for a Catering Supervisor to oversee catered events such as banquets, dinners, receptions and bar service at multiple campus venues. This is a full-time position with competitive compensation and offers exceptional benefits.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct the setup, delivery of service and break down of events
  • Oversee the preparation of food and beverage
  • Monitor food, liquor, and supplies inventory
  • Provide training, guidance and direction to part-time caterers, student managers and student employees to ensure proper and outstanding customer service to our guests

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1 year of food service experience
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record 
  • Ability to complete and pass Serv-Safe training course and hold a State of Wisconsin Restaurant Manager Certification within six months of employment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Basic computer knowledge (e.g. Microsoft Word & Excel)

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of food service supervisory experience
  • Experience with or supervision of student workers
  • Serv-Safe certification
  • State of Wisconsin Restaurant Manager Certification

The University of Wisconsin-Platteville, founded in 1866, enrolls about 8,000 students in 42 baccalaureate and 6 master's programs.
