Position Summary:

University of Wisconsin-Platteville is seeking applicants for the position of Inventory Control Supervisor in the Central Stores and Receiving operation. This position reports to the Facilities Director and works closely with campus mail services.    

 

Responsibilities:

Job Duties:

-Manage the maintenance, repair and operations inventory

-Maintain real time inventory of goods warehoused, using campus online system

-Purchase inventory stock, consumable stock and specialty items

-Maintain a secure, safe and organized warehouse

-Supervise staff

-Complete financial reporting of inventories

-Research new products and phase out outdated or unused inventory

-Work on campus initiatives and projects

-Communicate, maintain, update and create policies and procedures

-Respond to off-hour emergency calls

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

-3 years in inventory, warehouse or store management

-Experience in shipping and receiving

-Demonstrated skills in communication and relationship building

-Excellent computer skills

-Ability to maintain driver’s license

 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

-5 plus years in inventory, warehouse or store management

-2 years of supervisory experience

-Demonstrated experience in maintenance, repair and operations purchasing

-Experience in inventory counts, reporting and lean principles.

-Experience in inventory software set up and usage

-Commercial Driver’s License

-Forklift safety training

The Facilities Management Department is responsible for the operation and maintenance of over 2.5 million gross square feet of facilities, 400 plus acres of grounds and other various services to the campus community.  This position will insure an adequate, cost effective supply of components, parts, consumable supplies and other various items to support these endeavors.
