Position Summary:

The Markee Pioneer Student Center at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville invites applications for an Administrative Assistant. This is a full-time position with excellent fringe benefits. The regular working hours are from 7:45 am – 4:15 pm, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as administrative support for the MPSC Director and MPSC staff
  • Assist the MPSC Director in responding to requests and queries, and in compiling required reports
  • Administer MPSC staff and student organization travel arrangements and reimbursement policies and processes
  • Coordinate all aspects of administrative suite and Pioneer Involvement Center front desk reception and office management
  • Coordinate the updating and maintenance of all departmental policies and procedures
  • Develop and maintain a system for executing, filing and archiving department documents and other information
  • Assist the MPSC Director in monitoring and processing departmental financial records and transactions
  • This position may require evening and weekend hours during peak periods

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • Five (5) years of experience as an office manager or administrative assistant

        or

  • Associate’s degree with three (3) years of experience as an   office manager or administrative assistant
  • Working knowledge of office equipment and computer programs
  • Experience supervising office employees and/or student employees
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks
  • Attention to detail and problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated customer service excellence
