Position Summary:

The University of Wisconsin-Platteville, School of Business seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Human Resource Management. This is a full-time, 9 month basis appointment, starting in August, 2019. 

Responsibilities:

Teaching and possibly developing or redesigning primarily undergraduate courses in human resource management; also providing academic advising, engaging in scholarly activities, teaching and/or developing courses for students at a distance if assigned, and providing professional service to the department, university, and the community.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Doctorate degree in human resource management, business, management, or closely related field (ABD acceptable for hire)
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver effective instruction in basic and advanced human resource management courses, such as compensation, training, and/or labor relations
  • Demonstrated ability to incorporate active or applied learning and other high-value learning practices in instruction
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated potential to conduct scholarly research
  • Ability and willingness to contribute to the effectiveness of the School and the institution
  • Exhibits positive interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to teach in both campus and distance environments
  • Demonstrated commitment to or experience with diverse and/or historically marginalized or underrepresented populations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to teach a course dealing with the experience of marginalized groups in management and in the workforce
  • Demonstrated experience teaching students at a distance 
  • At least 1 year of post-secondary teaching experience OR at least 2 years of industry experience related to human resource management or general management
