 Position Summary:

The Campus Climate Training Coordinator would create, host, and assess trainings relevant to the need the diversity, equity, and inclusion needs at the University of Wisconsin Platteville and its branch campuses.  This position would work collaboratively with students, staff, faculty, and the community to implement trainings and workshop that address the educational and skill building needs within the realm of diversity, equity, and inclusion.  Addressing the needs of Campus Climate is a strategic priority for the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. Competency and/or proficiency in diverse identities and experiences is essential.  This position will be a part of the Department of Campus Climate and will report to the Campus Climate Coordinator and the Chief Diversity Office, Division of Diversity and Inclusion.

 

This is a full-time, ongoing, academic staff position.  

Responsibilities:

Job Duties:

  • Design and administer trainings to the University of Wisconsin Platteville’s population, its branch campuses, and the community.
  • Coordinate and communicate internal and external training requests.
  • Work with the Diversity and Inclusion Coordinator and the Campus Climate Department in creating assessment tools to evaluate programmatic effectiveness.
  • Participate in regular professional development opportunities related to job functions.
  • Serve on campus committee committees and projects as applicable.
  • Help advocate for the creation of training, workshop, programmatic efforts to meet Campus Climate needs.
  • Utilize marketing materials and platforms to effectively communicate training opportunities and awareness.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 1-3 years of training experience with particular emphasis on topics related to diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Experience in utilizing training techniques to adhere to internal and external constituents
  • Knowledge in assessing training and programmatic efforts
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, including learning educational and support needs of the campus as they arise
  • Willingness to travel to identified stakeholders to host trainings
  • Ability to work effectively with persons from diverse backgrounds
