Position Summary:

The University is seeking a Facilities Repair Worker to join our campus Facilities team who can independently perform routine maintenance and/or repairs to existing buildings (interior/exterior,) in addition to various general maintenance activities. Position also requires more in-depth involvement on internal and delegated construction projects. Call backs for work on weekends and nights will be required. $17.87 per hour. 

Responsibilities:

Perform general maintenance architectural repairs and preventative maintenance on existing building envelopes.

Assist in the estimating for labor and materials for internal and delegated projects. Interpret and install from plans and specifications as well as from verbal instruction.

Prepare and protect interior and exterior walls, ceilings, floors, and other surfaces for patching and painting.

Build forms, pour and finish concrete floors, foundations, steps, retaining walls, sidewalks and curbs. 

Repair and replace interior finishes related to ceiling, wall, door, window, and flooring. 

Perform miscellaneous activities as required.

Be an active participant in following applicable safety rules and regulations; including necessary training and drills.

Additional duties as assigned.

 

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

-Prior experience with carpentry work, painting, drywall & construction

-High School Diploma/GED

-Previous computer experience; including Microsoft office software.

-Ability to work safely and wear necessary PPE when appropriate.

-Excellent communication skills.
