Position Summary:

The University of Wisconsin-Platteville is hiring a full-time, 12-month staff member to work with continuing education programs in the Continuing Education Institute.  This position is housed on the Baraboo campus and will oversee programming and staff on the Baraboo and Richland Center campus. Salary range is $48,333-$51,000. 

 

Responsibilities:

The Continuing & Strategic Programs Manager (CSPM) is responsible for a broad range of credit and non-credit programming including:

-customized offerings

-training programs

-community education

-youth camps, and credit classes 

-Developing communication plans, print, social and web promotional materials

-Designing budgets, seek alternative funding, and ensure that program revenue and self-support requirements are met

-Be an active participant in following applicable safety rules and regulations; including necessary training and drills

-Additional duties as assigned

The CSPM works with business and industry representatives, professionals, community members, parents and youth, schools and educational agencies, campus academic and administrative units, and other partners – utilizing both on-campus and off-campus resources to meet the educational needs and interests of community members and targeted professional groups.

Coordinate program support and provide on-site presence for all programs, and for extensive on-site support for large events. Includes days, evenings and weekends. Conduct assessment of all programs, provide report of activities and program impact.

The Continuing Education Institute is a cost-recovery operation. The position encompasses the full spectrum of adult and continuing education program planning across the lifespan, development, promotion, delivery, and assessment responsibilities, and manages a wide array of ongoing programs, while also developing new programs, training's, services, and partnerships.  The CSPM oversees programming for UW-Platteville on the Baraboo and oversees programming and staff on the Richland Center campus.  

 

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Experience in the development and management of programs and/or events.

- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

- Documented relevant experiences with management and supervision. Supervision includes performance reviews, goal-setting and disciplinary action.

- Strong computer skills, especially working with Word, Excel, and databases.

- Flexibility to work with a range of student and educator styles and personalities.

- Excellent written and oral communication skills.

- Strong fiscal, organizational and administrative skills.

- Demonstrated success in launching and maintaining collaborations and partnerships.

-Two years’ experience in the development & management of self-supported programs and/or events.  

- Experience to creating individual class and program budgets.
