Position Summary:

The University of Wisconsin-Platteville, Office of Institutional Research department invites applications for two openings for Associate Institutional Planner. Under the general supervision of the Interim Assistant Provost, the Institutional Planners will help with the regular and ad hoc reporting needs of the Institutional Research Office at UW-Platteville.  The incumbents would support the preparation of the UW-Platteville central Data Request (CDR) as well as reports for both internal and external audiences.  Data created and reports generated are used, for example, in official reporting to the Department of Education, grant applications to local, state and federal agencies, accreditation bodies and the UWP senior leadership team in support of data-informed decision making. This is a 12-month position offering excellent benefits. Salary range is $55,000-$65,000 depending on qualifications and experience. 

Responsibilities:

-This position designs and implements special statistical studies, prepared reports with recommendations based on analytic review, supports university personnel seeking to use data to address academic or enrollment issues, supports assessment efforts, responds to external data requests and supports the IR office in development of innovative and sustainable data systems.

-Additional duties as assigned

-Be an active participant in following applicable safety rules and regulations; including necessary training and drills.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

-Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution

-3-5 years’ experience managing, analyzing and reporting data
- Expertise with database management and reporting
- Excellent analytic and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Working knowledge of quantitative research methodology used in the collecting, compiling, organizing and reporting of data and information
- Statistical knowledge and comfort utilizing statistical software such as SPSS, SAS, R, Python etc.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty and staff
- Willingness to learn new methods and software packages
