Position Summary:

UW Platteville is currently accepting applications for a Facilities Financial Administrator to assist the Facilities Management Department. This position is responsible for a variety of professional level work across multiple administrative service areas including; budget, finance, procurement, and human resources with impact across the institution in support of unit or institutional goals.  

This is a full-time, benefit eligible position with wage range of $15.00-20.00 per hour commensurate with qualifications and experience. 

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the interface between Facilities Management and the rest of campus for processing of purchases (A/P); equipment & inventory accounting, cost inquiries, and the routine billing of FM services to University departments.
  • Prepare and analyze accounting records, financial statements, or other financial procedural standards.
  • Assist with compliance reporting to federal, state, and local agencies.
  • Reconcile accounts on a regular basis.
  • Review and approve matched invoices and PO requests for Accounts Payable.
  • Maintain and analyze company and departmental budgets.
  • Cross-train and assist other accounting functions as needed and provide procedural feedback.
  • Implement and executes established policies and procedures for a designated work unit to adhere to unit objectives and to align with established strategies.
  • Analyzes data and trends, compiles progress reports, and provides appropriate recommendations or conclusions in support of the assigned operational work unit(s).
  • Additional duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Associate degree in business, accounting or related degree OR 2 years’ experience in an accounting/financial/budget role

• Must possess a strong focus on conscientious in work quality
• Demonstrated analytical skills
• Demonstrated ability to resolve complex problems with multiple variables required
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite; particularly Excel, Outlook, Word
• Must have excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
• Must be proficient in working with expenses, accounting and ability to reconcile accounts
• Must have a strong mathematical ability/aptitude
• Exceptional communication skills required with demonstrated ability to communicate at every level in the organization respectfully and collaboratively in verbal, written and electronic format
• Must be able to communicate professionally and respectfully with supervisor and staff in support of a collaborative work environment
