Continuing Education Program Manager

Position Summary:
The University of Wisconsin-Platteville seeks Continuing Education Program Manager with the Continuing Education Institute. The Continuing Education Program Manager will serve as the primary champion of Continuing Education for the Baraboo Sauk County campus. This position is responsible for all aspects of community outreach programming, business workshops, customized trainings, and developing partnerships and collaborations throughout the region.

The position is physically located on the UW-Platteville Baraboo Sauk County campus in Baraboo, Wisconsin, and will involve some night and weekend work. Salary range for this position is $48,000-$52,000 commensurate with experiences and qualifications, and is paid leave and benefit eligible.
 

Responsibilities:

Community Outreach

  • Encompass the full spectrum of adult and continuing education program planning across the lifespan, development, promotion, delivery, and assessment responsibilities, and manages a wide array of ongoing programs.
  • Recommend and implements new programs, services, and partnerships.
  • Expand and ensure access to programs, facilities, and educational services to diverse audiences.

 Corporate Training/Business Outreach

  • Recruit potential clients through business outreach activities including cold calls, on-site visits, and other avenues.
  • Develop and maintain an array of relevant and timely trainings.
  • Participate in recruiting, hiring, training, and supervising program instructional staff/instructors.
  • Monitor all program activities, to ensure high quality learning experiences.

Administration

  • Assess Continuing Education needs and trends affecting targeted audience by collaborating with business, industry, external agencies and institutions, university faculty and administrators, advisory boards, and students.
  • Assist with communication plans, print, social and web promotional materials
  • Develop course/class and program budgets, also monitors revenue and expense for alignment.
  • Research and seek out alternative funding sources and opportunities to expand resources and supplement program revenue.
  • Provide reports of activities and program impact.
  • Coordinate staffing for programs as needed.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Experience in the development and management of programs and/or events.
• Strong computer skills, especially working with Word, Excel, and databases.
• Flexibility to work with a range of student and educator styles and personalities.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong fiscal, organizational and administrative skills.
• Demonstrated success in launching and maintaining collaborations and partnerships
• Valid Driver’s License
