CRM Business Analyst

Position Summary:

The CRM Business Analyst provides functional support for the Office of Recruitment’s customer relationship management system (CRM) and integrations with the student information system (SIS). This position maintains the CRM’s day-to-day business processes and is responsible for ensuring data integrity and security. Conducts business process analyses, needs assessments, and preliminary cost/benefit analyses in an effort to align information technology (IT) solutions with business initiatives. Prepares functional, system, and program specifications. Holds a higher level of technical skills and application in their work, variation in activities, longer-term work, latitude to apply skills to solve routine problems without review, and some latitude to devise the approach and method to performing assignments. Performs routine work without supervision, seeking assistance when guidelines are inadequate, significant deviations are proposed, or when unanticipated problems arise.

This position has the opportunity for a hybrid/remote schedule depending on candidate location. Expectations regarding in-person and remote work will be determined at the time of hire.

This is a full-time, benefit and paid leave eligible position. Starting salary for this position is $47,000.

Responsibilities:

System Configuration and Management

  • Design CRM’s system configurations to support recruitment, admission, and communications business practices and reporting for undergraduates and graduates, domestic and international students, and all three campus plus fully online programs.
  • Build and maintain automated and ad hoc business processes within the system
  • Perform quality assurance testing by designing and implementing test plans and scripts related to upgrades and new features
  • Support integrations with third-party platforms, such as text messaging systems, website request for information forms, and virtual tour platforms
  • Review business practices and processes regularly to increase efficiency/effectiveness and to problem solve day-to-day issues
  • Liaise with Information Technology Services related to system development efforts
  • Document business processes and procedures 

Data Integrity and Management

  • Clean, transform, and load third-party data, including but not limited to prospective student contact lists
  • Interface with remote systems by creating and maintaining the import and export of files. Writes programs to interface with existing web services.
  • Work in conjunction with admission advisors, campus visit specialist, and student workers to maintain and improve data integrity 
  • Prioritize data security to minimize exposure and risk to UW-Platteville 
  • Determines and recommends programs required for optimal problem solution within cost/performance objectives

Supporting Communications and Reporting

  • Support the data needs of Enrollment Management, Office of Marketing and Communications, International Programs, and Office of Institutional Research
  • Assist stakeholders with interpreting CRM data for use in communications and reporting
  • Pull internal reports and perform basic data analyses to inform decision-making
  • Participates in requirements planning and feasibility determination 

Other duties as assigned

  • Formulates and defines systems scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements
  • Devises or modifies moderately complex information systems including analysis of business and user needs, documenting requirements, and revising existing system logic difficulties as necessary
  • Participates in requirements planning and feasibility determination
  • Works on tasks including project or functional requirements, functional design, functional configuration, testing, and documentation
  • Trains, serves as a resource, and provides guidance to other IT business analysts on routine problems, work processes, and policies 

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Two-years related professional experience
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • CRM/SIS experience
  • Ability to perform some limited travel

Preferred: 

  • Three-years of experience in higher education
  • Data analysis and reporting experience
