The Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at University of Wisconsin - Platteville offers an undergraduate degree in Sustainability and Renewable Energy Systems. This program is designed to provide students with strong foundational knowledge in renewable as well as traditional energy systems and their economic, social and environmental impacts on society. The ideal instructor is passionate about teaching undergraduate students and interested in interdisciplinary course instruction and design. 

We are seeking a full-time Lecturer, with an anticipated start date of August 2024. Responsibilities for this position include teaching undergraduate courses in different areas, specifically in bio-renewable resources and bio-fuels. Salary for this position begins at $45,000 and is commensurate with experience. 

Responsibilities:

  • Teaching undergraduate courses in sustainability and renewable energy systems.
  • Ability to engage modern pedagogy to teach undergraduate students through field, classroom, and laboratory settings.
  • Willingness, interest, or experience in cross-disciplinary collaborations.
  • Ability to effectively interact and collaborate with colleagues to complete tasks and goals.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

  • Master’s degree in sustainability and renewable energy systems or related field.
  • Strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate education and a willingness to collaborate with both students and faculty.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience teaching undergraduate courses during graduate school (an instructor of record supervising is acceptable) or at least two semesters as a graduate teaching assistant for a lab, leading sections, OR two years’ industry related experience.
