Position Summary:

This is an Assistant Professor of Agribusiness position within the School of Agriculture at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.  It will be a 9 month tenure track faculty appointment.  Primary responsibilities will include teaching and advising undergraduate students in Agribusiness. Teaching responsibilities will focus on the area of commodity marketing including  Agricultural Commodity Marketing, Livestock and Meat Marketing and Price Forecasting. 

Responsibilities:

  • Teaching undergraduate courses in agribusiness, specifically agricultural commodity marking
  • Advising students and clubs/organizations within Agribusiness
  • Conducting professional and scholarly activity related to your experience and the position
  • Provide serve to the University and community related to your experience and the position

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Doctorate in Agribusiness/Agricultural Economics or a related field or a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) with at least five years of Agribusiness industry experience
  • Knowledge  and experience with agricultural commodity marketing
  • Excellent communication and organization skills, dedication to undergraduate education, enthusiasm for professional engagement with students, energetic personality and ability to effectively work with a variety of people
  • Demonstrated commitment to or experience with racially diverse populations
  • Ability to develop and deliver presentations and experiential learning activities
  • Demonstrated ability to define and assess desired learning outcomes

The School of Agriculture (SOA) resides in the College of Business, Industry, Life Science and Agriculture, and has approximately 40 faculty and staff and over 800 students. We offer majors in agribusiness; agricultural education; animal science; dairy science; environmental horticulture; reclamation, environment and conservation; and soils and crop science.
