 Position Summary:

The Admission Advisor and Multicultural Outreach Specialist is responsible for creating and executing a comprehensive recruitment plan designed to enrich the campus community by attracting and enrolling a diverse student body. As a member of the campus community for the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, it is essential that you support and foster a diverse, inclusive and civil community of outstanding faculty, staff and students.

 

Responsibilities:

Serve as a representative of UW-Platteville in recruiting multicultural  prospective students at off and on campus events

-Recruit students and provide support for prospects as they progress through the admissions process.

-Attend multicultural college fairs and other recruitment events assigned by the Director of Recruitment

-Attend assigned on campus recruitment events such as Preview Days, Admitted Student Days, and other on campus events.

-Coordinate and attend recruitment events to increase awareness and to build a diverse recruitment pipeline on and off campus.

-Communicate with prospective students, parents, and counselors in small and large groups.

-Assist in identifying, communicating, and implementing vital recruitment strategies targeting diverse populations, in an effort to enhance and grow the University’s student body

-Connect prospective and admitted students with key campus and community resources

-Cultivate relationships with community based organizations and other community partners

-Lead admission-advising team in multicultural recruitment

-Paths to Platteville Event Programing

     -Communicating with potential group visits

     -Collaborate with Welcome Center Coordinator on event programing

-Collaborate with Office of Multicultural Affairs

     -Serve as Pre-College Program Manager

- Analyze and review data to determine effectiveness of current programming and communication and provide plans for changes as needed

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree by start date
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to present information to large and small groups
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Valid Driver’s license and the ability to drive.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Recruitment/admission experience
  • Experience in event planning
  • Bilingual
