Position Summary:

The Division of Professional Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville is seeking a Media Specialist to join its team.  The Media Specialist serves in-house clients for the division.  The position requires communicating with each of the clients to understand their needs, set interim deadlines, and manage and complete multiple projects in a timely manner.  As part of the creative process, the Media Specialist provides ideas and insights, and makes revisions based on each client’s input and feedback.  The position is involved in the full creative process, from concept to production.  The Media Specialist produces electronic, print and multi-media pieces.  Physically located on the UW-Platteville campus in Platteville, Wisconsin, this position is an annual appointment with a period of employment beginning as soon as possible.  The annual salary is $36,790, depending on qualifications and/or experience.

Responsibilities:

Marketing and Recruitment, Non-Credit Training, Communications, Student Services, Continuing Education

  • Collaborate across the Division of Professional Studies to produce print, electronic, and multi-media marketing promotions.
    • Develop original designs for print, online, direct mail, social media, and other mediums.
    • Create print and electronic ads in a variety of formats.
    • Assist with marketing strategies.
    • Design and develop promotional packages.
    • Create customized promotions for corporate and educational partnerships.
    • Create materials for virtual and face-to-face marketing events.
    • Create and edit audio and visual media.
  • Manage the development of graphics for print and online promotions.
    • Create original graphics.
    • Coordinate the purchase, organization, and maintenance of image files for accessibility and archiving.
    • Communicate with the campus publications office/mail and duplicating to coordinate print projects.
  • Support the management of pages and content for the Division of Professional Studies website.
    • Update home page marketing splash, program information, and others as needed.
  • Design and develop multimedia presentations, which may include webinars, slide shows, and videos.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum two years of work experience in marketing, graphic design, and multi-media production.
  • Expert knowledge of and experience with Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premier, and Audition.
  • Knowledge of and experience with audio and visual recording and editing.
  • Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Suite including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Ability to manage creative projects from concept through completion.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and set/meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and accommodate client expectations.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Organized and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and diverse work environment.

 

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in design or fine arts with a graphic design emphasis.
