Position Summary:

The University of Wisconsin-Platteville Baraboo Sauk County, Athletic Department, member of W.C.C., seeks applicants for an Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach/Intramural Officials Coordinator. This is a part-time position, offering a $1600 stipend for the academic year.

Responsibilities:

This position provides direction for activities associated with the men’s basketball program and student-athletes, including recruitment, monitoring academic performance and social development, maintaining discipline and development programs, fundraising activities, coordinating basketball camps, pre and post-season conditioning, practice and games game planning, film breakdown, and other duties assigned by the Head Coach and/or Athletic Director. 

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Three (3) years of successful coaching experience on the high school level.
  • Ability to recruit players to the basketball program.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and management skills as well as teaching skills, game skills and strategies required.
  • Written and oral communication skills along with outstanding organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of computer applications for recruiting, stats and video break downs.
  • Event planning, fund raising and camp experience
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to work weekends & evenings and also to travel
