Position Summary:

UW-Platteville seeks an administrative assistant to support the Dean of the College of Business, Industry, Life Science & Agriculture (BILSA). This position will act as the primary administrative support person who will coordinate information flow and communication, prepare correspondence, and provide administrative support to the college and Dean. 

Pay range for this benefit eligible position is $17.50-19.25/hour, which will be based upon qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Management of Dean's Office budget accounts and other college accounts
  • Serve as secretary for various college committees
  • Be knowledgeable of and assist with hiring processes, personnel processes and maintain related files
  • Supervise student workers
  • Provide administrative support for college committees and processes
  • Provide assistance in the preparation and planning for summer school and Winterim budget and assignments
  • Assist Dean with travel arrangements
  • General office responsibilities including, but not limited to, answering phones, greeting visitors, preparing correspondence, calendar management and scheduling
  • Additional administrative duties as assigned 

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

  • High School diploma
  • Two years of office administrative experience OR two year Associate degree in Business Administration, Office Administration, Project Management, or other Administrative Professional or Business related field 
  • Experience with budgets
  • Proficiency in Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Strong organization skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with students, faculty, administration and external constituents
  • Attention to detail
  • Positive attitude
